snapshots, and why your sound cuts out
the one thing
One preset per song, one snapshot per section. Changing preset reloads everything and cuts your delay and reverb tails. Changing snapshot does not.
three layers
A preset is a whole rig. A snapshot is a saved position of the controls inside that rig. A stomp is one footswitch turning one block on and off.
There are eight snapshots in every preset on this device.
only one of them has a gap
Changing preset unloads every block and loads a new set. That takes a moment, and your delay and reverb tails are cut off while it happens. That is the cost of switching, not a fault.
Changing snapshot loads nothing. The blocks are already there and only their settings move, so it happens instantly and the tails carry through.
the rule
If a change happens inside a song (verse to chorus, clean to solo), make it a snapshot. If it happens between songs, a preset is fine.
The exception is anything you reach for on impulse, like a boost or a bit of chaos. That is what stomp mode is for, and it works alongside snapshots.
