what the models are

Line 6 rename every amp, cab and pedal. The whole translation, and how to read it.

the one thing

“Brit 2203” is a Marshall JCM-800. Line 6 publish the translation for all 440 models themselves, at the back of a PDF.

why the names are strange

Line 6 cannot use another manufacturer's trademark to sell a model of their amp, so every model gets a new name. On a first scroll through the list, you cannot tell what anything is.

The names usually rhyme with, pun on, or describe the original. After a few, the pattern is clear.

two things to know before you search

First, “Nrm”, “Brt” and “Jump” are channels of one amp, not three different amps. Brit Plexi Nrm and Brit Plexi Brt are the normal and bright inputs of the same Marshall Super Lead, and Jump is the two patched together with a short cable.

Second, “Legacy” means carried over from an older Line 6 device for preset compatibility. Where two models look like the same effect, the non-Legacy one is the newer algorithm.

search it

Type what you see on the device, or type the real amp. Both work.
