9 of the 15 problems below are not faults. The modeler does that on purpose, and they are marked by design.

the volume knob doesn't change what I'm hearing

  1. by design

It is assigned to a different output . Fix: The knob drives one output at a time (main, alternate or headphones), set by the three buttons above it. Press the one you are listening to.

  2. by design

The knob is locked . Fix: Holding the lit output button disables the knob so it cannot be knocked on stage. Hold it again to unlock.

my footswitches are doing the wrong thing

  1. by design

You are in a different footswitch mode . Fix: Press MODE to toggle your two main modes. Hold it to see every mode, including Transport.

  2. by design

The left column is set to song or marker . Fix: Hold FS1 + FS7 to cycle it back through bank, preset, snapshot, song and marker.

it's distorting and I can't find where

  1. An input or output block is clipping . Fix: Input and output blocks turn bright red when they clip, and FX Loop blocks turn red when the Return clips. Find the red one. There is no other meter.

  2. The input needs the pad . Fix: The Instrument input has a switchable pad and its own impedance setting, before any block. Use them instead of spending a block on a gain stage.

fault

it won't let me add a block

  1. by design

You have hit a hard cap . Fix: Four amps or preamps per preset, two per path. Four clones, two per path. Eight cabs, four per path. Two poly effects per path. None of these are DSP limits.

    Helix Stadium Owner's Manual 1.3.2
  2. Clones and Agoura amps are expensive . Fix: A Clone costs about as much as a full Agoura amp model. Two of either on one path plus effects will fill that path. Move blocks to the other path.

my snapshot edits vanish when I switch snapshots and come back

  1. by design

Snapshot Edits is set to Discard . Fix: Global Settings > Preferences > Snapshot Edits sets this. Recall (the default) keeps your changes as you left them. Discard returns the snapshot to its last-saved state. Discard suits playing live and loses edits while you are building. Hold BYPASS and press SAVE to flip it at any time. The camera icon on the Home screen is gray for Recall and red for Discard.

loading a preset jumps to a snapshot I didn't choose

  1. by design

It recalls whichever snapshot was active when the preset was saved . Fix: Saving a preset stores all of its snapshots and remembers which one you were on. If a song should always start on the intro sound, select that snapshot and then save. The choice is made at save time, not at load time.

the snapshot footswitches disappear as soon as I pick one

  1. by design

Snapshot Mode Switches is set to Auto Return . Fix: Set Global Settings > Footswitches > Snapshot Mode Switches to Manual Return and it stays in snapshot mode until you press CANCEL. Auto Return suits occasional snapshot use. Manual Return suits a set played on snapshots.

my delay or reverb cuts off the instant I bypass it

This is a setting inside the block. Tails cutting off at a preset change is a different problem.

  1. by design

That block's Trails setting is Off . Fix: Trails Off mutes repeats and decays the moment the block is bypassed. Trails On lets them ring out, through a bypass and through a snapshot change. It is set per block, so check every delay and reverb.

is it safe to plug the XLR outs into a desk with phantom power on?

Read this before you plug in.

  1. No—Line 6 flag this in capitals, twice . Fix: Never connect these XLR outputs to a device whose XLR inputs have 48V phantom power enabled. On a desk, that means switching phantom off for those channels before you plug in, not after.
