five things that explain almost every problem.

  1. 01

    the right footswitch is tap tempo or FLUX.

    Press and hold it to switch between the two. Red is tap tempo, white is FLUX.

  2. 02

    save by holding home.

    Nothing is saved until you press and hold HOME. Until then, an “E” beside the preset name marks it as edited. Change preset while the E shows and the edit is lost, with no warning and no undo.

  3. 03

    one effect at a time.

    HX One is a single-pedal HX device. It runs one stereo effect at a time from Line 6's full effects library, with no amp models and no signal chain to build.

  4. 04

    there is no editor, and USB is for firmware only.

    USB carries firmware updates through Line 6 Central and nothing else. It is not an audio interface, and there is no desktop editor.

  5. 05

    the right-hand jacks double as a loop.

    HX One’s right-hand input and output double as a loop return and send. That lets one pedal wrap an amp.
