It is in the other mode . Fix: That switch is either tap tempo or FLUX. Press and hold it to toggle. Red is tap and white is FLUX.

FLUX doesn't seem to do anything

No parameter is assigned to it . Fix: Press and hold the parameter knob you want FLUX to move. Until something is assigned, the switch has nothing to control.

There is no editor for this device . Fix: USB carries firmware updates through Line 6 Central only. Everything else is edited on the pedal.

I lost stereo after wiring the loop

The four-cable method uses both jack pairs . Fix: IN RIGHT and OUT RIGHT become the loop return and send. You get the loop or stereo, not both.

Three knobs cannot show a whole effect . Fix: Press ⟨ PAGE ⟩—most effects have more parameters one page across.

Two settings cause nearly all of this, and neither is a tone control. Check them in this order before you touch an EQ.
The output level does not match what you plugged into . Fix: Instrument level into a mixer, or line level into the front of an amp, sounds like a bad amp model. Set the output level to match: one menu, 30 seconds.
HX One Owner's ManualThe cab block is in the wrong state . Fix: Cab on into anything full-range, cab off into anything that ends in a real guitar speaker. A cab into a real cab is two speakers stacked. No cab into a PA is an amp with no speaker at all.

my delay or reverb cuts off the instant I bypass it
This is a setting inside the block. Tails cutting off at a preset change is a different problem.

That block's Trails setting is Off . Fix: Trails Off mutes repeats and decays the moment the block is bypassed. Trails On lets them ring out, through a bypass and through a snapshot change. It is set per block, so check every delay and reverb.
