the one thing
Learn three things: how to change what the footswitches do (step on the MODE switch), how to save (hold HOME and press ACTION), and how to reach more parameters than the knobs can show.

FS1–FS6
Six stomp switches in two rows of three, plus a dedicated MODE switch and TAP/TUNER. In Preset mode the middle four become A, B, C and D.
- Press, in Stomp mode
- Toggles the effects assigned to that switch.
- Press, in Preset mode
- Selects preset A, B, C or D.
- Touch, without pressing
- Assigns the switch to the currently selected block.
- Touch repeatedly
- Cycles through multiple assigned items.
- Touch and hold two switches
- Swaps their assignments.
- Worth knowing
- Tap tempo has its own switch, unlike on the small HX Stomp, so all six are free for effects.
modes are the whole game
The footswitches do not have fixed jobs. What they do depends on the mode, and to change it you step on the MODE switch.
A Line 6 modeler that looks broken is usually in a mode you did not choose. Change the mode and it works again.
save, or lose it
Changes are not saved until you tell the device to save them—hold HOME and press ACTION. Until then, an “E” beside the preset name marks it as edited.
Change preset while that E is showing and your work is gone with no warning and no undo.
Save before you change preset. An unsaved edit is lost on the switch.
