plugging it into things

Every jack, what it is for, and the two or three that cause most cabling trouble.

the one thing

For a mono rig, always use the LEFT/MONO jack of a pair. Using the right one on its own gives you half your effects and a thin sound.

Guitar, bass or synth. For a mono instrument, use L/MONO.

Worth knowing
The input has a programmable impedance circuit, the same as a full Helix. If a guitar sounds harsh, check the impedance setting in Global Settings.

the mono rule

Outputs come in stereo pairs, and only the left jack of a pair carries a summed mono signal. One cable from the right jack gives you one side of a stereo image: quieter, thinner, and missing anything panned away from it.

It does not sound like a cabling fault. It sounds like a bad device, so check this jack first.
