NanOS 2.2.1

Documentation for a device that has shipped four significant firmware releases in 15 months will drift. One manual gives one answer. Reading every source shows where that answer isn't stable, so you can judge it yourself. Each one stays listed until a source settles it.

Documents five distinct buttons: BANK, FX, EXIT, CAPTURE, SAVE

What we do about it

Settled by the manual's own Hardware Specifications block: “CONTROLS: 2 Stainless Steel Stomp + Rotary Footswitches, 7 Knobs, 2 Analog Switches, 5 Digital Switches.” Five digital switches is exactly BANK, FX, EXIT, CAPTURE and SAVE, so the prose that said three was wrong. The same block says seven knobs, not six: the seventh is the boost control on the right cheek.

How long you hold SAVE to store a preset

User manual

“Press-and-hold SAVE for 2 seconds to overwrite the current Preset settings”

Creating and managing presets guide

“Press and hold the SAVE button for 3 seconds to save your Preset”

Manual and capture guide

3 seconds, stated consistently for Neural Captures in both

What we do about it

This is nearly settled. The current manual states 2 seconds for a preset in two separate places (under SAVING PRESETS and under Capture Volume & Input Gate) and 3 seconds for a Neural Capture. The two figures belong to two different operations, and the presets guide appears to have carried the capture number across. We publish 2 seconds for presets and 3 for captures. Either way, hold until the indicators stop blinking: the pedal confirms the save itself.

Channel 2 is never described

What we do about it

We document channels 1, 3 and 4 and the reamp send on output 3, and leave channel 2 blank. The channel map is published as an image, and two independent reads of it disagreed.

One owner's measurement with RTL Utility

9.1 ms at 48 kHz with a 64-sample buffer

What we do about it

Neural DSP publishes no number at all, so we quote the owner's figure and label it as a single community measurement, not a specification.
