The Ampeg V-5 was a mid-power all-tube guitar combo from the early 1970s V-series line, producing approximately 40 watts from a pair of 6L6GC output tubes through an integrated speaker cabinet. It occupied the middle ground in the V-series between the smaller V-2 and the full 100-watt V-4, offering clean headroom and natural tube breakup at more manageable volume levels suitable for smaller venues and recording. Like other V-series models, the V-5 reflected Ampeg's serious effort to compete in the guitar amplifier market during the early 1970s.
