The V-9 is Ampeg's 300-watt guitar head of the mid-1970s, pairing an SVT-style power section of six 6550s with a two-channel preamp. Channel 1 adds a Distortion control that switches diode clipping in via an opto-coupler, plus bright switch, bass/treble and Ampeg's inductor-based midrange selector; channel 2 is a simpler bright/volume channel. Tube reverb is included, and the sheer output gives enormous clean headroom.
