Ampeg VL501/1001 Preamp - Channel 2 preset

The Ampeg VL-501 preamplifier section covered a single-channel high-gain guitar preamp using 12AX7 tubes, designed as a lower-wattage companion to the VL-1002 in Ampeg's early 1990s VL guitar amplifier series. The VL-501 preamp offered similar high-gain voicing to the VL-1002 in a 50-watt package, allowing guitarists who didn't need the full 100 watts to access the same British-inflected, EL34-driven tone signature. The preamp circuit shares considerable topology with the larger VL-1002 design.
