AX84 Lead Preamp preset
Verified · 88/100 confidence. Complete schematic. All component values readable. Parameters derived directly from the circuit.
A standalone DIY guitar preamp from the AX84 project, first issued in 2001. Two 12AX7s give three cascaded gain stages, with Gain 1 and Gain 2 controls and a bright-bypassed interstage network, then a cathode follower drives a treble, bass and mid tone stack and a master volume. It is a hot-rodded, high-gain lead circuit meant to feed a separate power amp, which is drawn on a second sheet.
