The BX500 is a hybrid Carvin bass head. An active/passive input feeds an op-amp preamp with drive and contour controls, treble and bass, and sweepable low-mid and high-mid controls, then a multi-band graphic EQ from 50 Hz up to 5 kHz that can be footswitched, a compressor and master volume. A 12AX7 tube stage can be switched in or bypassed. There is an effects loop, tuner out and balanced DI, driving a 500-watt Class-D power amp.
