The Palomino V8 is a 5-watt valve combo from Crate's Palomino series, aimed at home playing and recording. An op-amp input stage with a gain control feeds one dual triode: the first half drives a passive tone network with a single Shape control and a level pot, the second half drives a single-ended, cathode-biased EL84 with no negative feedback. A line out and a solid-state rectifier complete it, so it can be pushed hard at low volume.
