Dumble Overdrive Special ODS-100 - Clean preset
Verified · 86/100 confidence. Complete schematic. All component values readable. Parameters derived directly from the circuit.
The Overdrive Special is Howard Alexander Dumble's best-known design, built by hand in small numbers from 1972, each amp voiced for its player. One preamp with Bright, Deep, Rock/Jazz and PAB tone-stack-bypass switches feeds a relay-switched overdrive: two extra 12AX7 stages with their own drive, level and ratio controls. Four 6L6s give 100 watts, switchable to 50. Its smooth, vocal lead tone became the reference for blues and fusion soloing.
