The Jive is a compact ENGL head with a footswitched, relay-selected Clean/Lead switch. One input feeds ECC83 gain stages with gain and bright controls and a treble, middle and bass stack, an ECC83 stage that buffers an effects loop, and an op-amp driven spring reverb with its own level. An ECC83 long-tailed-pair inverter drives a pair of EL34s, powered from a silicon bridge rectifier with a standby switch.
