The 1946 Professional is one of Leo Fender's first amplifiers under the Fender Electric Instrument name, and the forerunner of the Pro Amp. It has a mic channel and an instrument channel, each with a 6SJ7 pentode and its own volume, plus an instrument mute switch. A 6N7 dual triode works as the phase inverter and driver, with a single tone control, for a push-pull pair of 6L6s. It drives a 15-inch Jensen field-coil speaker, the field coil doubling as the filter choke, from a full-wave valve rectifier.
