The AmpCan is a 1997 battery-powered solid-state Fender portable amp shaped like a can. It has separate guitar and microphone channels, each with its own volume and tone; the guitar channel adds a gain switch with diode clipping for overdrive. A TDA2005 bridged chip amp drives a 4-ohm speaker, rated 14.5 watts at 5% distortion on a fresh battery. It runs from a rechargeable 12 V battery with a charger input and a battery-level LED, built for busking and playing on the go.
