The AA764 is the blackface Champ. A 12AX7 with a treble/bass stack drives a single cathode-biased 6V6GT in class A on a 5Y3GT rectifier, for about 5 watts into an 8-inch speaker. It gives sweet cleans at low settings and thick overdrive when turned up, and it is a classic small recording amp.
