The Steel King is a 2004 solid-state Fender amp built for pedal steel guitar, sharing its preamp board with the Jazz King. A single input with a -10 dB pad for active pickups feeds Gain, an EQ Tilt control, Treble, a sweepable mid (Mid Level and Mid Freq) and Bass, all op-amp based. Spring reverb, a footswitchable effects loop, a tuner mute, a Master Volume and a switchable output limiter feed a 200-watt power amp for clean, high-headroom volume.
