The Super 5F4 is the classic late-tweed Super amplifier produced from approximately 1958 to 1960, considered by many to be the definitive expression of the model. It delivers around 30–35 watts from two fixed-bias 6L6 tubes into two 10" Jensen speakers and features Fender's Bassman-derived tone stack with independent bass, middle, and treble controls per channel. The 5F4 circuit produces an iconic midrange richness and harmonic complexity that breaks up beautifully when pushed hard. This amp is one of the most studied and cloned circuits in guitar amplifier history.
