The Gibson GA-25 is a 25-watt combo amplifier from the mid-to-late 1950s, stepping up from the 6V6-based models to a 6L6 push-pull output stage for more headroom and a broader frequency response. The 6L6 complement gives the GA-25 a fuller, more expansive clean tone compared to the smaller GA-20, with extended bass response and increased presence. When driven into breakup, the 6L6 output stage produces a rich, harmonically complex crunch well suited to blues, rockabilly, and early rock and roll.
