Gibson GA-80 Varitone - Channel 2 preset
Close · 72/100 confidence. Most values readable. Minor gaps filled by inference from similar circuits.
The Gibson GA-80 Varitone is a high-powered combo that incorporated Gibson's Varitone tone-switching circuit, borrowed from their Varitone-equipped guitars, for expanded tonal options. Four 6L6 output tubes deliver approximately 40 watts of powerful clean American tone. The Varitone notch filter network provides distinctly different tonal colors at the flick of a switch, making it one of the more unusual and versatile amps in the GA lineup. It is rare and historically significant as an early experiment in programmable amp EQ.
