The GA-80 Vari-Tone is a two-channel Gibson combo of the late 1950s. One 12AX7 serves both channel inputs, and each channel has a 5879 pentode stage plus its own tone and volume; channel 2 adds the Vari-Tone selector, a multi-position switch of preset filter voicings. The second 12AX7 splits phase and runs a tremolo with depth, rate and footswitch, driving a push-pull pair of 6L6GB tubes on a GZ34 rectifier.
