The Gretsch G6157 is a Valco-built bass amplifier with a single channel: three inputs into a 12AX7, a tone control, a three-position Range switch (High Bass, Low Bass, Guitar) that changes the voicing, and a volume control before the second gain stage. A 12AX7 long-tail inverter drives four 6L6s as two cathode-biased push-pull pairs, each into its own output transformer, from a silicon-diode bridge rectifier with standby switch.
