The Hiwatt STA250 is a dedicated 200-watt power amplifier stage without an onboard preamp, designed to be driven by an external mixer or preamp for large-format PA and monitoring applications. Eight EL34 tubes deliver enormous headroom with the low distortion and high damping factor that characterized all Hiwatt designs of the era. Constructed with the same point-to-point military-spec wiring as the guitar amplifiers, the STA250 was prized for its rock-solid reliability over extended touring seasons and its ability to reproduce transients cleanly at massive output levels.
