The Kay 703-C is a small practice amp that uses series-string tubes in place of the 703's 12AU6/50L6 line-up: an 18GD6A pentode preamp, a single-ended 60FX5 beam pentode and a 36AM3 rectifier, with an isolation transformer on the mains side. It has three inputs with tone and volume and makes about 3 watts into an 8-ohm speaker. It breaks up almost immediately, a lo-fi sound prized for recording.
