Kay 720 preset
Verified · 86/100 confidence. Complete schematic. All component values readable. Parameters derived directly from the circuit.
The Kay 720 is one of Kay's more powerful tube amps, suited to bass as well as guitar. Three inputs feed a 5879 pentode preamp, then one volume and one tone control, and a 7199 whose pentode adds gain and whose triode is a split-load phase inverter. Two 6L6GCs, cathode-biased through a shared resistor, drive a 15-inch 8-ohm speaker from a 5U4GB rectifier, at roughly 40 watts. Clean and full, with plenty of headroom.
