The Marantz Model 8B is a stereo tube power amplifier with two identical channels. In each, a triode-connected 6BH6 pre-driver feeds a 6CG7 long-tailed driver-inverter driving a fixed-bias push-pull pair of 6CA7/EL34s into 4, 8 or 16-ohm outputs, with a built-in meter for setting bias and AC balance. It has no preamp or tone controls, and is one of the best-known American hi-fi amps of the tube era.
