The Marshall JCM800 Studio 15 (model 4001) is a 15-watt 1×12 combo from the JCM800 era, designed specifically for recording studio environments where the natural power tube saturation of a larger amp would be impractical. At 15 watts the EL34 output stage reaches full saturation at very reasonable volume levels, producing the characteristic JCM800 harmonic content and compression in a form that recording engineers could work with. The Studio 15 is one of the most sonically efficient Marshall amps ever made — a genuine powerhouse of tone in a compact, manageable package.
