The Clubman 35 is a 35-watt single-channel Matchless head from the early 1990s with an unusual preamp. Two inputs feed a paralleled 12AX7 stage, then a passive Bass and Treble stack before a 6SH7 pentode gain stage and the Volume control, followed by an effects loop. A 12AX7 long-tail phase inverter with Master and Brilliant controls drives two cathode-biased EL34s with no negative feedback, from a GZ34/5AR4 rectifier with a choke-fed supply.
