The D-180 is Mesa/Boogie's high-power valve bass head from the early 1980s, rated at 180 watts. Two inputs feed a 12AX7 gain stage with Volume 1, then a treble, bass and middle stack with shift switches and a second Volume with a Bright switch. An effects loop with a Blend control and an optional graphic EQ follow, then a 12AT7 long-tail driver and a 12AX7 driver stage feeding the output valves. Cliff Burton of Metallica used D-180 heads.
