The Son of Boogie (drawn with its head version, the HOB) is a simpler, lower-cost Mesa/Boogie derived from the Mark-series design. Two inputs feed a 12AX7 gain stage with Volume 1, then a treble, bass and middle stack, Volume 2 and a further cascaded stage into a Master. A 12AT7 long-tail phase inverter with a Limit control drives four fixed-bias 6L6s with an adjustable bias set, from a solid-state rectifier with standby, into 4- or 8-ohm outputs.
