The TransTube Special 212 is a mid-1990s all-solid-state Peavey 2x12 combo whose discrete-transistor TransTube preamp is voiced to respond like a valve amp; there are no valves in it. High and low gain inputs feed relay-switched Clean and Lead channels, the clean side with its own volume and bright switch, the lead side with pre and post gain. Shared EQ, presence, spring reverb and an effects loop feed a transistor power amp rated 130 watts into 4 ohms.
