The Peavey Vulcan is an early-1970s solid-state Peavey amp for bass and PA use, sharing its preamp with the Musician and Dyna Bass of the same era. A single input feeds a discrete transistor preamp with a Volume control and an LDR (light-dependent resistor) stage driven from a separate control circuit, then two 50K tone controls for bass and treble. A fully transistorised quasi-complementary power amp with paralleled output devices runs on +/-40 V rails.
