The Polytone Mini-Brute is a compact, lightweight solid-state combo that became a fixture of jazz guitar, prized for a warm, clean voice that suits archtops. High and low inputs feed an op-amp preamp with a Dark/Normal/Bright switch, boost-and-cut Bass, Mid and Treble controls and a Volume, then a Master. Depending on version it adds an optically switched distortion circuit with its own Drive and Gain, spring reverb with level control and an effects loop, all footswitchable.
