The Rick-Tone Type 17 "Mercury" is a small guitar practice and recording amp from Rick-Tone, hand-built from the 1980s on and often tailored to each owner. One input feeds both halves of a 12AX7 in cascade, with a 500K Volume and a 1 Meg treble-cut Tone between the stages. A single cathode-biased 6AQ5 runs single-ended Class A into the output transformer for about 4 watts, with a 6X4 rectifier and no negative feedback.
