The Rick-Tone Type 18 "Cupid" is a tiny guitar practice and recording amp from Rick-Tone, hand-built from the 1980s on. One input feeds both halves of a 12AT7 in cascade, with a 1 Meg Volume and 250K Tone between them, driving a single cathode-biased 6AQ5 in single-ended Class A into a 4K-to-8-ohm output transformer for about 2.5 watts. Instead of a high-voltage transformer it uses two back-to-back 12.6 V transformers and a diode voltage doubler.
- Made in: USA
- Wattage: 2.5W
- Channels: 1
- Preamp tubes: 1× 12AT7
- Power tubes: 1× 6AQ5
Schematic-derived preset files for the Neural DSP Quad Cortex and 16 Fractal and Line 6 modelers: Axe-Fx II/XL/XL+, Axe-Fx III, FM3, FM9, and the full Helix family (Floor, LT, Rack, HX Stomp, HX Stomp XL, Native).
Gridleak extracts amp parameters from original circuit schematics using AI vision — component values, gain staging, tone stack topology, tube types — then generates native preset files for every supported modeler. Every extraction is scored 0–100 and the score is published.
