The RR2104 6V6 (drawn as RR800V) is Rob Robinette’s version of the Marshall JCM800 2204 master-volume circuit. It keeps the 2204 preamp: a 12AX7 input stage with bright cap and preamp volume, a cold-clipper stage, a third gain stage and a cathode follower into the treble/bass/mid stack and master volume. A 12AX7 long-tail inverter with presence drives a fixed-bias pair of 6V6GTs in place of the EL34s, with adjustable bias and elevated heaters.
