The Silvertone 1430 is a compact AC/DC practice amp with no power transformer: the valve heaters run in series across the mains. One input goes to a Volume control and a 12AU6 pentode preamp, which drives a single-ended, cathode-biased 50C5 into a 3.2-ohm speaker. A 35W4 half-wave rectifier makes about 135 V of plate supply. No tone controls; one input, one knob.
