The Soldano Decatone is a 100-watt three-channel head with Normal (clean), Crunch and Overdrive channels, each with its own volume and master, selected by opto-isolators from a footswitch or an external switcher. The channels share a cascaded 12AX7 preamp, with a cold-clipped overdrive stage, a cathode-follower-driven treble/bass/middle stack and a second, switched tone path. A 12AX7 long-tail inverter with Presence drives four fixed-bias output valves, with a choke-filtered supply, standby and 4/8/16-ohm outputs.
