The Standel 25L15 is one of Bob Crooks' high-fidelity instrument amps, a 1×15 valve combo. Two pentode input stages feed a Contour control and a Hi Cut control, then a dual-triode stage with Bass and Treble controls. A further triode gain stage and a split-load phase inverter, with an effects-loop insert between them, drive a push-pull pair of output pentodes with cathode bias. A valve rectifier and choke-filtered supply round it out. Its clean, full-range voice made Standel a favorite of country and steel players.
