The Standel Imperial 'A' models are fully solid-state. Each of the two channels runs through its own potted preamp module with its own Volume, Treble and Bass, and the second channel adds a Contour control. The channels mix into a further module ahead of a footswitchable vibrato module with Intensity and Speed (omitted on bass models). A 2N663 driver feeds a driver transformer and two DTG110 output transistors from ±25 V rails into a 4-ohm speaker.
