The Standel Custom 'A' models (drawing S84A) are solid-state, with the same layout as the Imperial 'A'. Each of the two channels has its own potted preamp module with its own Volume, Treble and Bass, and the second channel adds a Contour control. The channels mix into a further module ahead of a footswitchable vibrato module with Intensity and Speed (omitted on bass models). A 2N663 driver feeds a driver transformer and two DTG110 output transistors from ±25 V rails into a 4-ohm speaker.
