The Velocette is Trace Elliot's compact all-valve guitar combo of the mid-1990s, built for simplicity. A single input feeds two ECC83 gain stages with a volume control and bright switch, then a single tone control. A second ECC83 runs as a long-tail phase inverter driving a push-pull pair of EL84s, from a solid-state voltage-doubler supply with a standby switch, with 8- and 16-ohm outputs. The EL84 stage gives a chimey, touch-sensitive breakup at modest volume.
