The National Dobro Model C was a second-generation early amplifier from National Dobro, improving on the Model B with refinements to the circuit and speaker system. Like its predecessor it was designed primarily for Hawaiian lap steel guitar, the dominant style of electric guitar playing in the mid-1930s. The Model C is among the earliest surviving examples of purpose-built guitar amplification.
