The Student V5 is a basic three-valve practice amp from the American Vox line that Thomas Organ built in California in the mid-1960s. Two inputs share a 1M Volume control feeding a 12AU6 pentode preamp, which drives a single-ended, cathode-biased 50C5 beam tetrode into a small speaker, with no tone control or negative feedback. A 35W4 half-wave rectifier supplies the high voltage, and the series heaters run from a transformer tap.
